Creamy polenta, the recipe coming from Italian cuisine, taking over the palate of us Brazilians, in Argentina and Paraguay, in a simple, easy and quick way.

Polenta requires few ingredients, but enough to be incredibly delicious.

In this article we will teach you how to prepare a delicious creamy polenta with sauce. Let's go!

For our creamy polenta:

  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 envelope of beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onion
  • 50 g salted butter
  • 2 cups of cornmeal
  • salt to taste
  • 1 box of cream
  • Nutmeg to taste

Sauce:

  • 2 spoons (soup) of oil
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 300 g of ground beef
  • salt to taste
  • 300 ml tomato sauce
  • Grated cheese for sprinkling
  • Thyme, oregano, parsley and ground white pepper

How to prepare polenta:

  • In a pan, sauté the garlic and onion together with the butter, add the water, bay leaf, beef broth, salt and nutmeg.
  • Let it boil.
  • After it starts to boil, add the cornmeal dissolved in a little water to prevent lumps and stir.
  • Lower the heat, cover the pan and cook for approximately 25 minutes.
  • Turn off and remove the bay leaf.
  • Add the cream.
  • Place in a baking dish and pour over the sauce.
  • Using the tip of a knife, poke the polenta so that the sauce penetrates (optional).
  • Sprinkle with grated cheese.
  • Place in the oven to melt the cheese.

Sauce preparation:

  • In a pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the garlic and onion.
  • Fry the ground beef and add the thyme, oregano, parsley and ground white pepper.
  • Add the tomato sauce and salt.
  • Cook for a few minutes until the sauce thickens (not watery).
