The banana cheesecake recipe or (cheesecake) is a popular sweet delicacy in the United States, the traditional recipe is a creamy cake with red fruit topping, there are several varieties of this cake, including the savory version, today we are going to learn how to make banana cheesecake.
The modern version of this dessert appeared in the mid-1880s, an extremely old and tasty recipe.
In this article we will teach you how to make banana cheesecake, let's go!
For our banana cheesecake:
- 1 packet of crushed Maria or cornstarch biscuits (200 g)
- 100g unsalted butter, melted
Filling:
- 5 medium ripe silver bananas with skin
- 2 pots of cream cheese (300 g)
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 3/4 cup (tea) of sugar (135 g)
- 2 eggs
For our syrup:
- 5 tablespoons of sugar (100 g)
- 2 silver bananas sliced into half-moons
- 1/2 cup (tea) of water (120 ml)
- Cinnamon powder
How to prepare our dough:
- Mix the biscuit with the butter until it forms a moist crumb.
- Line the base of a springform pan (25 cm in diameter), pressing down with the back of a spoon to compact.
- Bake in a preheated medium oven (180 ºC) for 15 minutes.
- Pour the filling and put it back in the oven for 25 minutes.
- Let it cool and refrigerate for 1 hour before unmolding and pouring the syrup over it.
For the filling:
- Cook the bananas in boiling water for 15 minutes and peel them (you should get 300 g of pulp).
- Transfer the still-hot pulp to the food processor and blend it with the cream cheese, honey and sugar for 3 minutes.
- Add the eggs and beat quickly, just to incorporate.
Finally the syrup:
- Melt the sugar until it becomes caramel.
- Add the banana, water and cinnamon to taste and cook until the caramel dissolves. Serve cold.
