Cake in the passion fruit pot


Passion fruit pot cake, a fever among Brazilians for the last few years, has made its way onto the menus of confectioners and bakeries.


This small cake invented by Brazilians became another source of income, being easy to make, store and carry.

In this article we will teach you; how to make; the main flavors; of this venture, shall we go?

For our passion fruit pot cake:



  • 2 ½ cups wheat flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate powder
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • Margarine for greasing
  • Wheat flour for greasing


  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 carton of cream
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup passion fruit juice concentrate
  • 1 envelope of unflavored gelatine powder

Syrup ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of chocolate powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar

Topping ingredients

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 passion fruit pulps
  • ½ cup water

How to prepare:

Cake dough

  • Beat the milk, eggs, chocolate, sugar and oil in a blender until the ingredients have dissolved
  • Pour the mixture into the bowl, add the yeast and flour and mix.
  • Place the cake batter in the passion fruit pot on a greased and floured baking sheet
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180ºC for 35 minutes or until golden brown
  • Remove from the oven, leave to cool, crumble the cake into a bowl with your hands and set aside


  • Place the cream, condensed milk and passion fruit juice in a blender and blend until smooth
  • Transfer the mixture to a bowl, add the egg whites, the gelatine dissolved according to the instructions on the package and mix well
  • Cover with cling film and put the mouse in the fridge for about 30 minutes


  • Add all the ingredients for the cake syrup to the passion fruit pot in a bowl, mix well and set aside


  • Put all the ingredients for the cake topping in the passion fruit pot in a saucepan and mix well
  • Bring to the boil over low heat and continue mixing until a thin syrup forms
  • Remove from heat and set aside


  • To assemble the passion fruit pot cake, separate the jars you're going to use to make the jam
  • Make a layer of crumbled cake moistened with the syrup
  • Then make another layer of passion fruit mousse
  • Repeat the layers and finish with the mousse
  • Garnish with the syrup and refrigerate for about 2 hours before serving
