Ovomaltine jar cake
Ovomaltine jar cake, a craze among Brazilians in recent years, appearing on the menus of confectioners and bakeries.

For our Ovomaltine Jar Cake:
Sponge:
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- ½ cup of oil
- 1 cup of chocolate powder 50% cocoa
- 1 ½ cup of sugar
- 2 cups of sifted wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon of yeast
Syrup:
- ½ cup of sugar
- ½ cup of water
How to:
Ovomaltine filling
- Add the condensed milk, cream, powdered milk, Ovomaltine and whipped cream to the mixer bowl. Mix well for about 10 minutes, until you get a consistent dough. 1 can of condensed milk, 1 box of cream, 1 cup of powdered milk, 1 cup of Ovomaltine, 500 ml of chilled whipped cream
- Refrigerate for about 3 hours.
Cake batter
- In a blender, add the eggs, milk, oil and cocoa powder. Blend for about 3 minutes until you get a smooth mixture. 3 eggs, 1 cup of milk, 1 cup of 50% cocoa cocoa powder, ½ cup of oil.
- Then add the sugar and beat again. 1 ½ cups of sugar
- In a separate bowl, add the sifted wheat flour with the yeast. After that, put the chocolate mixture in the container and mix with a whisk. 2 cups of wheat flour, 1 tablespoon of yeast
- Grease a 25 x 25 cm rectangular pan and pour in the jar cake batter. Bake in a preheated oven at 180º C for about 30 minutes.
- Cut the cake dough in the jar into discs or crumble it with your hands and set aside in a container.
Hot
- Add the sugar and water to a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.½ cup sugar,½ cup water
- Stir well for 2 minutes and stop to prevent the sugar from crystallizing.
- When it starts to boil, let the mixture boil for another minute and remove the pan from the oven. Set aside.
Assembly
- Place a layer of Ovomaltine filling in the pot.
- Then add a layer of cake batter and smooth it out with a spoon. Moisten it with a little syrup.
- Add another layer of Ovomaltine filling and another layer of cake batter with syrup.
- To finish, add another layer of Ovomaltine filling and decorate as you prefer.
